Family wants answers after man is killed at party in South Phoenix The loved ones of Jorge Carillo Escareno Sr. fear that his case could never be arrested, and unfortunately the family is no stranger to gun violence. Justin Lum from FOX 10 reports. PHOENIX – Police say a man died in a hospital after being found shot dead in southern Phoenix late Saturday night. According to Phoenix Police, in response to reports of a shooting near 10th Street and Southern Avenue at around 11:30 p.m. on October 30, officers found 39-year-old Jorge Carrillo Escareno Sr. with a gunshot wound. Escareno was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he later died. “Officials learned the man was shot while leaving a party in the area,” said Sgt. Andy Williams said. The shooting is determined to be a homicide. Victim also lost son to gun violence In the months leading up to the shots that killed Escareno, his family faced another fatal gun violence incident in which Escareno’s son, 17-year-old Erin Carrillo Felix, was killed on Mother’s Day. I’m trying to find justice for him,” said Carrillo. “His little ones will miss him the most. He’s got three little ones right now: two little girls and a year old boy and one on the way. ”Escareno owned a granite plumbing business and loved hanging out with his children. “He worked seven days a week and he would always make sure to hang out with them,” said Carrillo.
