PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – A woman died late Sunday evening in Phoenix near 39th and Grand Avenues after a hit and run accident. Police say it happened around 10:30 p.m. Early information says Adriana Cuevas, 29, was on the street when she was hit by a car traveling southeast on Grand Avenue. The car couldn’t stay at the scene. Cuevas was then hit by a second car driving in the same area, but that driver stopped. They stayed on site and the police said they did not think it was interference. Cuevas died on the spot from her injuries. The investigation continues, and police are working to find out who beat Cuevas and fled the scene.
