PHOENIX – Operation Safe Roads has a hotline and an email address for ABC15 viewers to post their street concerns. The number is 833-AZ-ROADS. The email address is road@abc15.com. One spot seems to be a problem for many people who have checked in over the past few weeks: Greenway Road between 56th Street and Cave Creek Road. Charles Gibbs was one of those people. He rides a bicycle and drives around the area a lot. But whatever he chooses to travel, Gibbs said it’s a tough ride. “What does it take? I mean, are you waiting for a disastrous situation? I mean what are you waiting for,” Gibbs asked about repairs. Not only is he annoyed about the potholes in the road, he also worries about the safety of the area, “explained Gibbs.” When I know the road is bad, I watch all aspects of what is going on. “ABC15 traffic announcer Megan Thompson drove to the 29th Street and Greenway Road area to speak to Gibbs about his concerns. Her own car was stuck in what Gibbs calls the” washboard “effect. Thompson brought that Concern from the spectators and their own experience at the Phoenix City Traffic Department. Gregg Bach responded quickly to ABC15’s request and sent crews to assess the issues: the staff looked at the road conditions you described along the greenway and gave me the following information Tatum to 56th Street was recently overlaid and is in good condition 40th Street to Tatum is in good condition and does not appear to be re Some areas between 20th and 40th Streets have been identified as in need of repair, including the intersection on 29th Street as early as 2019, Operation Safe Roads reported. Since then, the city has paved more than 500 miles of Phoenix Street. The city has also created an online interactive dashboard that residents can access. It informs people when to start road works in a given area. However, if there is a security problem, the city can and will push projects forward. You need to hear from the drivers to know where. They ask you to call 602-262-6441 or send an inquiry using this online form.
