PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – A two-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital Saturday night after being dragged out of a pool at a Phoenix resort. It happened at the Hilton Phoenix Resort on the Peak on 16th Street and Northern Avenue. The Phoenix Fire Department said the first call came out as a possible drowning but was only intended as “hiding.” By the time the crews arrived at the resort, the toddler had been pulled out of the pool and CPR was already in progress. According to the fire department, the boy was approachable and cried. Paramedics examined the child and said he was “behaving appropriately” and was in a stable condition. The child was transported to the hospital for examination. This wasn’t the only water-related incident on Saturday that involved a toddler. Later that evening, firefighters responded to a possible drowning in an apartment complex near 23rd Avenue and Northern. A 2-year-old girl had been dragged out of the pool but was awake and breathing on her own, the firefighters said. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition. It is not known how long she was underwater. Copyright 2021 KPHO / KTVK (KPHO Rundfunkgesellschaft). All rights reserved.
