PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – Police are soliciting public assistance in locating a man who robbed an AutoZone in western Phoenix nearly five months ago. According to police, a young man went to the hardware store at Indian School near 43rd Avenue at around 8:20 pm on December 23 and pretended to be a customer. He grabbed an item and went to the checkout as if to buy it. Instead, the police said he pretended to have a gun and told the clerk he was armed. He took the goods without paying and ran away. The suspect is described as an 18 to 25 year old Hispanic male, about six to five feet tall, thinly built, and was last seen in a black hooded jacket with a white design on the front and arms, baggy gray sweatpants, black mules, white socks, and a blue mask; anyone with information is encouraged to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS (948-6377) or 1-800-343-TIPS (8477.)).
