PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – With a few exceptions, masks are now optional for fully vaccinated people in public places in Phoenix. The city council voted unanimously on Wednesday to adapt its almost one-year mask mandate to the new CDC guidelines, according to which vaccinated people do not have to wear masks indoors and outdoors. Masks are still required in Phoenix Sky Harbor and on public transportation, including airplanes, light rail vehicles, and buses. The changes take effect immediately. Companies can decide whether customers need to wear masks in their buildings.
