A community event at a Phoenix church this weekend provides access to vaccinations and education. PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – The first institutional Baptist church in Phoenix is hosting a COVID-19 vaccination campaign this weekend aimed at those in the minority who are skeptical of vaccinating the underserved communities in order to make themselves more comfortable about this pandemic and feel safer, “said Chiquita Taylor, executive director of FIBCO Family Services Inc., who runs the church. Initially, the vaccine drive was supposed to give around 1,500 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. But after the recommended hiatus from the CDC and FDA, they will give around 1,000 Moderna vaccine doses, with second dates scheduled for May. Organizers say some people canceled after the news of the J&J break, but most people are still signed up and excited to get the Moderna vaccine Those behind the vaccination campaign say they provide as much information as possible to vaccine skeptics would like to make providence to alleviate their fears. “Among other things, we have experts available who are ready to answer the phone,” said FIBCO Family Services, Inc.
