PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – Investigators say the driver who ran over a red light and caused an accident that killed a mother and her two children in Phoenix drove more than double the speed limit just before the impact. Police say 33-year-old Raymond Montgomery was driving 97 mph three seconds before the accident on Seventh Avenue and Missouri Avenue on Thursday afternoon. About half a second before the crash, he drove the stolen SUV more than 70 mph, detectives said. Montgomery was put in jail. He has been charged with robbery, three counts of murder, theft and multiple assaults. 3 dead, 6 injured after a city bus accident at Phoenix Junction Investigators say the three deceased – a family – were all in the same car. Nobody on the bus was injured. Montgomery continued east on Missouri Avenue and hit a woman on the zebra crossing and another car. The pedestrian and the driver of this car suffered injuries that are not life threatening. A total of five vehicles were involved in the wreck.
