Source: 36 Below 36 Below, a completely immersed cocktail lounge, is the new, reinterpreted experience for adult drink lovers in the former UnderTow room under the Sip Coffee and Beer Garage in the Arcadia district. To celebrate, the owners are holding a grand opening party on July 23, including a ribbon cutting ceremony with Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego around 6:30 p.m. In addition, a DJ, giveaways and food and drink specialties are available. The owners of Sip, Josh Katz and Maurice “Moe” Murillo and Sheldon Wiley are the innovative minds behind the new virtual destination. 36 Below is designed as a Walipini speakeasy; which means an underground greenhouse bar. According to the owners, this is the first of its kind in Phoenix – and across the country. “We wanted to create a new, completely unique concept that would allow guests to escape reality and indulge their senses,” said Katz, which opened on June 22nd, will feature wall-to-wall video screens and guests every season move audiovisual effects to a new location.
