Man dies in fatal Phoenix traffic collision after apparently losing control of car

PHOENIX – Phoenix police said a man was killed in a fatal traffic accident after apparently losing control of his car and colliding with a pickup truck on Saturday morning. Responding to the fatal incident around 9:45 a.m. near 43rd and Missouri Avenues, authorities learned that a sedan was traveling north when it allegedly lost control and turned left and hit a pickup truck. The man who drove the limo suffered serious injuries and died on the scene, Phoenix Police Sgt. Andy Williams said in a press release. The man was identified as 18-year-old Jacob Moreno on Sunday. Two other men in the truck were not injured. Police said impairment was not a factor. Authorities blocked 43rd Avenue in both directions from Medlock Drive to Missouri Avenue while investigators were on site. No additional information was provided.
