PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – Phoenix police have made an arrest in connection with an armed robbery and the death of a man. Police said on Saturday that 30-year-old Jose Martinez had been arrested. (Source: 3TV / CBS 5) The investigation began when officers found a man near 19th Avenue and Alice around 4 a.m. on Friday morning. Phoenix Police Sgt. Vincent Cole says police officers were called in the area about a man on the side of the road. When they arrived they found the man and confirmed that he was dead with obvious signs of trauma. Cole says a little later just after 5 a.m. near 19th Avenue and Hatcher officials were responding to a separate armed robbery incident. Later that day, a person of interest was arrested, but it is not clear that Martinez is the same person who was arrested. The investigation continues. Stick with Arizona family as the story unfolds.
