PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – Three men were taken to the hospital after witnesses said someone opened fire on a car in Phoenix, police say. It happened around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday near 40th Street and Thomas Road.
Phoenix police said several callers said they heard more than 20 gunshots in a vehicle parked behind a shop. When the officers got there, they found evidence of a shooting, but there were no victims at the scene. A few minutes later, police received calls reporting that three adult men had been dropped off at a nearby hospital.
The injuries of all three men are not considered to be life-threatening. According to police, the three men are currently not giving the officers much information.
There is still no information on what led to the shootings or whether the police are looking for suspects. The investigation is in its infancy and ongoing.
