PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – A young girl died Friday night after a shooting in Phoenix near 48th Street and Broadway Road. Andy Williams says the shooting took place around 8:15 p.m. When the officers arrived at the scene, they found a 15-year-old with a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital where she later died of her injuries. “When we got outside, the whole parking lot was lit by police officers,” said neighbor Alquondra Peoples. 1:16 15-year-old girl who was shot dead at her home in PhoenixWilliams on Saturday says the teen identified as 15-year-old Graciela Molina was sitting in her bedroom when the bullet came from outside and hit her. “We don’t think this bullet was meant for this girl. It was a stray round from a shootout, possibly not even very close to her home,” said Sgt. Williams. (Source: 3TV / CBS 5) Neighbors say that they are afraid that something like this has happened so close to them. “I have a daughter the same age, so it’s definitely very scary and traumatic,” said Peoples. The investigation is ongoing and, according to Williams, there is still no suspicious information.
