GILBERT, AZ (3TV / CBS 5) – Tucson-based restaurant chain eegee’s plans to open their doors to the bellies of residents of the Phoenix subway next week! The chain, which is known for the frozen fruit drink “eegee”, the French fries specialties and the typical sub and grinder sandwiches, announced the first Valley location in Gilbert on Tuesday. On July 15th, eegee’s makes its Valley debut in Gilbert, located on the southwest corner of Baseline Road and Val Vista Drive. The restaurant chain works with local partners and offers guests the chance to win free Eegees for a year. On opening day, in honor of the opening, guests can take home a unique Eegee sticker created by Valley artist and designer Timmy Ham while supplies last. There will also be a limited number of “Special Edition” stickers, and anyone who receives one will receive free eegee’s for one year! eegee’s has also partnered with country music artist and Gilbert local Jacob Morris to set the mood for the grand opening. Morris created an exclusive playlist for the big day. Valley Mixologist and Beverage Director of Fox Restaurant Concepts, Mat Snapp, will also make bespoke Eegee cocktails to enhance the warm welcome we have received at the Valley so far, “said Ron Petty, CEO of eegee’s “We can’t wait to celebrate our first opening in Phoenix, meet our new neighbors in Gilbert, and continue to grow across the valley in the coming months.” The restaurant will open for eat and take away and will offer online ordering and contactless pickup -above. The Gilbert chain will mark the restaurant’s 28th location in Arizona. eegee’s will be open Monday through Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The drive-thru stays open until 10:00 p.m. The restaurant chain plans to open additional locations in Gilbert, Mesa and Phoenix this year.
