PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – 26 people were displaced overnight near 43rd and Glendale Avenues after a second alarm fire in a Phoenix apartment complex. Phoenix Firefighter David J Ramirez says the fire occurred early Saturday morning with multiple alarms going off throughout the building and reports of smoke development in several apartments. Both Phoenix Fire and Glendale Fire responded to the fire. When the fire brigade arrived on site, they found a large three-story residential complex with heavy smoke from the third floor. The fire became a first alarm fire. The firefighters tried to put out the fire and search for residents of the complex. After the complex was cleared, the fire spread to a second alarm fire. The fire brigade was able to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading. Two of the residents were being treated for smoke inhalation, Ramirez said, but were stable and refused to be transported to the hospital. A total of 26 people were displaced by the fire. The cause of the fire is being investigated. Copyright 2021 KPHO / KTVK (KPHO Rundfunkgesellschaft). All rights reserved.
