PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – An 11-month-old boy was hospitalized after being found unresponsive in a backyard pool in Phoenix. According to the Phoenix Fire Department, the baby was found in the pool at home east of 56th Street and Camelback Road. First responders transported the child in critical condition to a local hospital. A Phoenix Fire Department spokesman told the Arizona family that the child was being babysittered at the time. This babysitter performed a resuscitation with the help of an emergency service. Rescue workers took the baby to HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center. From there he was flown to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital. An aerial photo shows that the swimming pool is not fenced. It is not clear how long the boy was in the water.
