(Arizona Department of Transportation Traffic Camera) PHOENIX – A RV wreck blocked Interstate 17 near Sunset Point on Friday, causing long delays for the flood of Phoenix area drivers who The authorities said they were going north for the holiday weekend. The collision occurred at about 11:30 a.m. at mile post 256, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. The road was cleared in less than an hour, but the damage was done. At 12:30 p.m., the vehicles were secured about 10 miles to Black Canyon City. ADOT advised travelers heading north to postpone their journeys or consider taking State Route 87 through Payson, to SR 260 through Camp Verde, and then onto I-17 north of the wreck. During the closure, traffic had to leave the freeway at the Badger Springs Road exit and take the access road before re-entering. Other information was not immediately available.
