The £ 300,000 investment project to create energy efficient offices in the Phoenix Business Park is now complete and available to companies to rent.
The Harrogate Borough Council has created new jobs and renovated three existing units. The result is modern, high-quality rooms for companies that exceed the latest requirements of the energy certificate (EPC).
A recent rating by an EPC appraiser gave the new offices an A rating, which means they are very energy efficient and have lower operating costs. They also achieved a high BREEAM * sustainability rating.
Electric vehicle charging stations have been installed to support the City Council’s Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) strategy and reduce CO2 emissions across the Harrogate district.
The project was carried out by Dalebuild Limited, a Harrogate-based construction company with a proven track record of this type of work.
Councilor Graham Swift, Harrogate Borough Council Vice Chairman and Cabinet Member for Resources, Business and Economic Development, said:
We wanted to make sure that companies in Harrogate District had the space around them to grow and expand with their business.
This Phoenix Business Park investment does just that by creating flexible space with leases tailored to their needs. It also offers them modern, energy-efficient accommodation with high-speed digital connectivity.
It’s great news to hear that the new offices have also received an A rating for the energy certificate and a very high BREEAM rating. We have ambitious plans to reduce carbon emissions across the district and this is another example of the steps we are taking to achieve it.
Phil Gregg of Ripon Farm Services, who recently extended their lease and acquired additional accommodations in the Phoenix Business Park, said:
The Phoenix Business Park allows us to host some of our group functions for our 11 farm dealerships in Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire while being close to our headquarters on Dallamires Lane. The units ensure a pleasant working environment in the heart of our beautiful city.
Since the units were completed in August, two of them have already been rented, with inquiries for the new building and the remaining renovated units.
