PHOENIX – A woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning and access to 51st Avenue in West Phoenix was restricted for several hours. Phoenix Police Department officials said the crash occurred near 51st Avenue and Clarendon Avenue around 10:30 am. The driver of the Toyota, later identified as 22-year-old Dezarae Navarro Medina, was trapped in the car when it caught fire. Firefighters rescued her from the car with special tools, but she was already seriously injured. Medina was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition and later died.
