PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – Eli Ortega is back in business. “Yeah, I’m really happy with 3 On Your Side,” Eli said with a smile. He works full time on ridesharing and also supplies food for companies like Door Dash. Ortega says he likes to drive a car. “I actually like to be my own boss.” But while making deliveries recently, Ortega has been the victim of an ongoing scam. But in a previous 3 On Your Side report, Ortega explained how he was scammed when he received a cloned text message that looked like Door Dash, and the text asked him to provide his credentials. So, Ortega did it. “So I had to enter my 6-digit PIN so I could unlock my account and access my account,” Ortega said. “And of course you thought it was from DoorDash?” 3 On your side, Gary asked Harper. “Yeah, I really didn’t think so much about it,” Ortega replied. But that was a mistake because the scammer used Ortega’s login information to steal all of his Door Dash tips, delete his money, and close his Door Dash account. Ortega says Door Dash wasn’t going to help him, but that changed when 3 On Your Side came into play. I asked the grocer to investigate and when they did, Door Dash was kind enough to not only reactivate his account but get this one as well. They also replaced all of the stolen money, which was more than $ 700. “You are about what you say and 3 is really on your side. It’s pretty cool,” Ortega Side told Door Dash, “DoorDash takes the trust of our community very seriously and we are committed to the safety of those we are serve. Immediately after the incident became known, we communicated with the dasher and refunded the lost money. I appreciate his patience while we ensure proper payment to the correct account. “Ortega said,” I should have started over. I wouldn’t have had any other option if 3 On Your Side hadn’t helped me. ”A big thank you goes out to Door Dash. You weren’t responsible for the money stolen; the cheater was.
