The power of Mother Nature brought wind, light hail and heavy rain to parts of the Phoenix West Valley area around 1 p.m. A severe thunderstorm warning was in place for Glendale, Surprise and Peoria until 5:30 p.m. The heavy rain then continued east where the same warning was issued for Gilbert, Tempe and Guadalupe. Greenway Road is flooded again and closed both directions from 29th Avenue to Interstate 17. It’s a problem area every time it rains heavily. In the Seventh Avenue and Coral Gables area of ​​Moon Valley, the street turned into a rushing river because of a flooded laundry nearby. Officials had to block Seventh Avenue. People in the area say they haven’t seen the water this high in years. A road in northern Phoenix is ​​closed because a flooded car wash turned it into a rushing river. The storms left severe damage. Near Seventh Avenue and Hatcher Road, an apartment complex roof landed on a car in the parking lot.
