In his previous role as Executive Vice President of Master Planned Communities in the Houston area, Mr. Melton was responsible for residential design and development for HHC’s three highly acclaimed MPCs in Texas: The Woodlands®, Bridgeland® and The Woodlands Hills®.
The woods was recently recognized as the No. 1 in the country to live by by Niche.com. Bridgeland, which started selling home sites in 2006, is currently one of the top selling master plan communities in the Texas and across the country, following record-breaking home sales in the first half of 2020. During Mr. Melton’s tenure, Bridgeland was recognized and received Master Planned Community of the Year by the Greater Houston Business Association Howard Hughes the first Vanguard Award 2020 from Houstons Urban land Institute (ULI) for the development of Bridgeland’s 140 acre recreational facilities Josey Lake that integrates innovative design into the natural landscape and serves as a sustainable rainwater retention system. In addition, The Woodlands Hills, which opened in 2018, continues to receive recognition for its high standard of development and outstanding sales dynamics.

Prior to joining The Howard Hughes Corporation, Mr. Melton was Director of Land Development at Taylor Morrison Austin. Before that he was development manager for Sueba. employed United States of America, supervises her single and multi-family home.
Mr. Melton serves on the board of directors for the Greater Houston Builders Association, Cy exhibition chamber for trade, Cy-Fair Education Foundation, Conro/ Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce, Katy Economic Development Council, and the Gulf Coast Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). He is chairman of the West Houston Association and an active member of the National Community Development Council of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the Memorial Hermann Cypress Advisory Committee.
Mr. Melton is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Systems Engineering. He served as a field artillery officer in the US Army for five years and received an Army Commendation Medal with Valor Device and Bronze Star.
