Phoenix Union, health center partner to offer COVID vaccines, other services

(Facebook photo / @ phoenixunion) PHOENIX – The Phoenix Union High School District is partnering with a community health center to offer COVID-19 vaccines and other services on July 30th and 31st. Five schools in the Phoenix Union High School District and one in The Osborn School District will offer the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines, while two Wesley Community and Health Centers will offer the vaccine, as well as vaccinations for children, blood pressure, dental, glucose and diabetes Screenings, sports checkups, mammograms and health checkups will be offered. Wesley health centers will also offer backpacks for school age children, financial wellbeing, and more, according to a press release. The full list of locations and times is below: Wesley Community & Health Center Golden Gate (1625 N. 39th Ave.) July 30th – 10 am-4pm, July 31st – 8 am-2pm Wesley Community & Health Center 10th Street (1300 S. 10th St.), July 30th – 10:00 am – 4:30 pm Academies at South Mountain (5401 S. 7th St.), July 30th – 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, Dec 31st July – July 20: 12:00 am to 2:00 pm Alhambra High School (3839 W Camelback Rd.), July 30 – 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, July 31 – 8:00 am to 2:00 pm Betty H. Fairfax High School (8225 S 59th Ave.), July 30 – 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., July 31 – 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. July 31st – 10am July 31st – 6pm – 8am – 2pm Osborn Middle School (1102 W Highland Ave.) July 30th – 10am – 6pm, July 31st – 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Trevor G. Browne High School (7402 W. Catalina Dr.), July 30 – 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., July 31 – 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Register for the services online or by calling (602) 764-150 0. Those in need of a ride to any of the schools or health center in Wesley can also call the number for a travel voucher courtesy of Lyft, the statement said. If there are no dates available for the weekend events, an additional opportunity has been added for August 6th at both Wesley locations, according to the announcement. The Maricopa County Department of Health, Albertsons and Safeway Pharmacies are also part of the partnership. The Phoenix Union High School District completed an event in early July where the district and its partners delivered more than 4,100 COVID-19 vaccines to the community.
