THE SERIES – The Phoenix is 3-3-1 against the Tribe, including wins in the 2019 and 2020 seasons. -The Pride leads the overall series 7-1-0. Elon earned his first win against Hofstra in program history last season in the 2020 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship semifinals when he delivered a 1-0 win over top-seeded Pride to advance to the final. The win marked the first time since the 2013 season that the Phoenix beat a ranked opponent. ABOUT ELON-Elon finished fourth in the conference standings with a 7-5-1 (2-2-1 CAA) record. -The Phoenix recorded their second win in Northeastern in overtime on October 17th, 2-1. -Carson Jones scored Elon’s first goal, followed by her sister Kennedy Jones with the 93rd-minute golden goal for her first college goal.-Carson Jones ‘goal was the Huskies’ first goal in over 300 minutes. Northeastern booked shutouts against Towson, James Madison and Hofstra before taking on the Phoenix. The win marked the Phoenix’s first win at Northeastern in program history. The goals scored were also the first Elon scored in the Boston Huskies game – The Phoenix is led by fourth-year head coach Neil Payne. SCOUTING WILLIAM & MARY-The tribe goes into the game with a 3-7-2 (1-2-2 CAA) record in the season and occupies sixth place in the CAA.-William & Mary went 0-2-2 in their last four games, including a goalless draw against nationally ranked Hofstra.-For her performance against Pride, goalkeeper Zoe Doughty was named to both the College Soccer News national team and Top Drawer Soccer’s National Team of the Week Honorable Mention List. – The tribe’s head coach is Julie Shackford. SCOUTING HOFSTRA-The Pride (12-2-1, 4-1-0 CAA) currently ranks second in the conference, 23rd in the RPI and 25th in the last United Soccer Coaches survey.-Hofstra went last Week 0-1-1, including a 1-0 loss to Northeastern for the first conference loss since the 2018 season.-The Pride will travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to battle Drexel on October 21st before going to Maroon and Gold starts.-Hofstra is won by Simon.
