Phoenix PE firm backs Scarlett Johansson’s new skincare brand

PHOENIX – Movie star Scarlett Johansson has announced that she will launch a skin care brand in early 2022, and a Phoenix investment firm is helping her. Johansson, perhaps best known as one of the Avengers in Disney’s Marvel franchise, will again take on the role of Natasha Romanoff in the heavily delayed Black Widow, which will debut simultaneously in theaters and on the Disney + streaming service on July 9th . She will work with beauty and fashion manager Kate Foster on the skin care line. Johannson will serve as the founder and chairman of the new company and Foster as the co-founder and CEO. The venture will be funded by The Najafi Cos. , a Phoenix-based private investment firm with offices in Los Angeles and New York Najafi Cos. has supported brands like Tracee Ellis Ross’ Pattern Beauty, Beach House Group and Moon Oral Care. Earlier this year, Najafi founded a blank check company with former NFL star Colin Kaepernick, also known as the Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC). “It is so rare to find the right partners with the right products at the right time.
