Phoenix metro traffic restrictions include I-10 closure in West Valley

PHOENIX – A lockdown on portions of Interstate 10 heading east in the West Valley will hamper drivers this weekend as crews begin clearing the tarmac. Eastbound I-10 between Avondale Boulevard and 99th Avenue will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, along with the eastbound I-10 ramps on Litchfield and Dysart Streets, the Department of Transportation said Arizona in a press release with. South of downtown Phoenix, Interstate 17 southbound between 19th Avenue / Durango Street and Seventh Street will be closed for bridge work from 10:00 PM Friday to 5:00 AM Monday. In the North Valley, the Loop 101 Pima Freeway to the west between 56th Street and State Route 51 will be closed from 10:00 p.m. Friday to 05:00 a.m. on Monday due to pavement sealing as part of an expansion project. Finally, north of Peoria, loop 303 southbound between Lone Mountain Parkway and El Mirage Road will be closed from 9pm Friday to 5am Monday to relocate traffic to new freeway lanes.
