Venture-funded company Phoenix Health & Safety has outlined plans to expand its business into the Middle East.

The Staffordshire-based health and safety training company announced that it is taking the move to roll out Phoenix UAE due to increasing demand in the construction sector across the region.

The company added that a number of appointments have positioned it for international expansion.

Richard Bath joined TheVet.co.uk as Operations Manager, Sophie Fraser-Miller joined NEBOSH as Senior Account Manager after a 12 year career and Chris Winstanley is moving to Head of Revenue after a career scaling VC-backed companies.

Chief Executive Nick Higginson said, “We see our launch in the Middle East and North Africa region as a significant opportunity to offer IOSH and NEBOSH training to a variety of new companies, particularly in construction and oil and gas.

“The move to courses in the virtual classroom during the coronavirus pandemic, and the similar time zones in the regions we now operate in, allow us to offer this popular training format in multiple countries.”

Tony Stott, CEO of Midven, which invested in Phoenix in 2011, added: “Phoenix was one of our top performing portfolio companies during the pandemic.

“We are delighted to welcome the new members of the management team and look forward to helping Phoenix continue its international ambitions.”
