Next game: at UNC Asheville 02.09.2021 | 6:00 p.m. BLACKSBURG, Virginia – Elon University women’s football recorded their second loss of the season when they fell 7-1 to Virginia Tech on Aug. 26. THE RUNDOWN -The Hokies took an early lead when they took a 5-0 lead before a 45-minute light delay. -After the game resumed and two more Hokie goals were scored, Abby Fusca scored the final goal of the evening to get the phoenix on the board with 37 seconds left in the second half. NOTES -Fusca’s goal was Virginia Tech’s first goal of the season. Goalless opponents included Loyola (Md.) (Exhibition), Richmond (exhibition), Liberty and William & Mary. The goal was also Fusca’s first of the season. -Lydia Totten paced up and down the recorded shots. -Mckenna Dalfonso (1-2) scored two saves in goal. Katrin Hauksdottir also made her first appearance of the season, recording a parade that night. -The Phoenix is now 1-2 in the season, while the Hokies remain undefeated (3-0). UP NEXT Elon will travel to UNC Asheville for a matchup at 6pm on Thursday, September 2nd.
