GLENDALE, AZ (3TV / CBS 5) – A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car on the SR 101 Agua Fria Freeway heading south in Glendale near Union Hills Drive Sunday afternoon. According to DPS, there were several collisions on the south side of the motorway when the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle. According to the DPS, a pedestrian crossed the lanes of the SR 101 towards the south at around 4 p.m. and passed in front of a vehicle. The pedestrian was hit by the car and pronounced dead at the scene. Soldiers closed the 101 SB lanes on 75th Avenue to investigate the incident but have since reopened them. It is not clear what caused the crash. Notification of the next of kin has not yet been carried out, so DPS has not released the name of the pedestrian. No further information was released.
