PHOENIX – A growing partnership between Walgreens Boot Alliance Inc. (Nasdaq: WBA) and VillageMD adds additional primary care clinics to the city of Phoenix.
To date, the partnership has opened 18 Village Medical in Walgreens Valley locations, with four more due to open by the end of the year. The 22 clinics will create more than 800 jobs here, almost 500 of them in the fields of natural sciences, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Dr. Brent Asplin, president of Chicago-based VillageMD, said he was encouraged by the demand he has seen since he first entered the Phoenix market last year.
As part of this strategic partnership, 600 primary care clinics are expected to open in more than 30 US markets over the next four years.
