Corrections and Clarifications: An earlier version of this article misidentified the security guard’s role in the knife fights. According to police, he arrested the man who stabbed the victim.

A man was fatally stabbed Tuesday morning in Phoenix after a brawl in a shop.

According to police spokesman Sgt. Anna Justus.

The authorities are investigating the death as a homicide.

Police said they believe there was a fight between two men that later escalated into a knife fight, Jupiter said.

A store security guard arrested the suspect, an unidentified 32-year-old man, who stabbed 46-year-old Jeremy Konow before police arrived, Jupiter said.

Konow was taken to hospital with a stab wound. Later he died.

Detectives were on hand to conduct their investigation and the area was expected to be restricted for some time, Jupiter said.
