It seems that the Los Angeles Clippers will have to forego Kawhi Leonard in at least the first two games of the Western Conference final against the Phoenix Suns. Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes said Leonard will not be traveling to Phoenix with the Clippers to continue rehab at home: the 29-year-old has not played since Game 4 of the LA series against Utah Jazz after sustaining a knee injury a ride while being fouled. According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Clippers believe Leonard sustained an ACL injury. Losing Leonard is a blow to LA’s title dreams. However, they managed to make it to the Western Conference final without him, which means they can make it while he’s on the sidelines. Facing the suns isn’t an easy task, but Phoenix could do without one of its top players in Chris Paul, who has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 and is on the NBA’s health and safety protocols. Game 1 between the Clippers and Suns is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
