Grand Avenue reopened after serious crash near downtown Glendale | Phoenix Traffic

Source: 3TV / CBS 5 GLENDALE, AZ (3TV / CBS 5) – Grand Avenue reopened Wednesday morning after a major accident near downtown Glendale. According to Glendale Police, officers responded shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Grand Avenue at 57th Drive, which is southeast of the intersection at 59th and Glendale Avenues. According to the police, two vehicles were involved. Witnesses told investigators that a brown car was passing a red light when a red car turned left off Grand Avenue onto 57th Drive. The woman who drove the brown car was taken to hospital with serious injuries and her young son was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, the police said. The driver of the red car was also taken to hospital, seriously injured. The intersection of 57th Drive and Grand Avenue was closed for several hours during the officers’ investigation. Traffic was blocked in all directions. Grand Avenue (US 60) reopened in both directions just before noon. For the latest road conditions, click here.
