AP Photo / Wilfredo Lee, FILE Reports: Facebook ends policy exemptions Facebook plans to end a controversial policy advocated by CEO Mark Zuckerberg that exempted politicians from certain moderation rules on its website, according to several news reports, representing the company’s rationale for the policy Believe that speech by political leaders is newsworthy and in the public interest, even if it is offensive, harassing or otherwise controversial. The social media giant is currently thinking about what to do with the account of former President Donald Trump, which he suspended “indefinitely” on January 6, leaving it in the Facebook limbo and not disclosing its owners can. The policy change was first reported Thursday by tech site The Verge and later confirmed by the New York Times and Washington Post.
