CHANDLER, AZ (3TV / CBS 5) – A fatal three car accident near Alma School Road has blocked the lanes of Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) heading west in Chandler, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. (Source: ADOT) The accident, which occurred shortly before 6 p.m. on Monday, blocked all lanes and all traffic had to leave Arizona Avenue. At least two people died in the crash, says DPS. The extent of the further injuries is not yet known. DPS confirms that two people had to be freed from two separate cars. ADOT cameras showed at least three fire engines and three ambulances at the scene. ADOT says there is no estimated time for the highway to reopen.
