Colon cancer rates have risen in patients under the age of 50, and in May this year the US Task Force on Preventive Services (USPSTF) officially changed its guidelines to start colorectal cancer screening at the age of 45 instead of 50. The new guidelines will mandate health check-up coverage for those over 45, starting in October.
