BLACK CANYON CITY, AZ (3TV / CBS 5) – Driving on Interstate 17 near Black Canyon City was slow due to a Saturday afternoon bushfire.  The fire slowed things down on the north lane of I-17 near mile post 248. On the opposite side, the southbound lanes near Sunset Point were closed for a while due to an accident.  A few miles down the freeway, another accident slowed things down when they were evacuated in the same area as a bushfire.  * UPDATE * * CLOSE * I-17 going south is CLOSED at Sunset Point due to an accident at mile post 250.  Expect greater delays and look for an alternative route. Traffic has been reduced to one lane in each direction.  The progress of the fire has stopped and the crews are working on the cleanup.  Both incidents resulted in kilometers of slow traffic on both sides of the highway.  A few hours later these were cleaned up and traffic was back to normal.  The crews are working on a bushfire in the median of I-17 south of Bumble Bee Road.  Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction.
