PHOENIX and INDIANAPOLIS, 9 Dec 2021 / PRNewswire / – Dickinson Fleet Services (DFS), focused on creating the next generation of elite technicians, has expanded its FleeTec® Academy to include Phoenix, building on the success of its flagship training program in Indianapolis. The FleeTec® Academy, founded in 2019, was developed to promote the growth of qualified workers in the fleet maintenance and repair industry by giving highly motivated men and women without prior mechanical experience the opportunity to become qualified, industry-certified technicians. FleeTec® Academy Phoenix, which recently completed its first four-week course, will host a number of new programs in 2022. To date, more than 240 technicians have graduated from Dickinson’s FleeTec® Academy.

“The training, recruitment and retention of technicians is critical to the growth of our business and the industry as a whole,” said Ted Coltrain, Executive Officer, Dickinson Fleet Services. “FleeTec® is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for someone who has what it takes to focus full-time on both work and training during this extraordinary training program.”

The unmatched training program of the FleeTec® Academy

Candidate technicians take part in a rigorous, hands-on training program designed to develop basic mechanical skills. The in-residence program is followed by a structured internship and an extended training program for further development in one of the DFS service centers or field service locations spread across Germany.

FleeTec® candidates receive competitive wages throughout the program, including full cost of living, and a full set of mechanic tools. Upon completion of the program, technicians are qualified to perform preventive maintenance inspections and light repairs immediately. Together with the inclusion as a team member of the leading on-site maintenance provider for medium and heavy trucks in North America involves continuous learning about the ins and outs of Dickinson’s industry-leading tools and techniques, including unrivaled security practices. These are the references that make Dickinson technicians the elite performers in the industry.
