FLINT, MI – Allegiant Air’s first flight from Flint to Phoenix departed Friday, November 19, launching a new route with one-way fares starting at $ 47. “Mesa is a gateway to some of the best attractions the Southwest region has to offer, and we are excited to introduce this route so that Flint residents have an affordable and convenient option to vacation,” said Drew Wells, senior vice president President of Revenue and Network Planning at Allegiant, in a statement. “Flint residents in particular will appreciate the comfortable, affordable, non-stop Allegiant flights without the hassle of stops or connections.” The new Allegiant to Arizona route uses the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport and will operate twice a week. Introductory fares must be purchased by Sunday, November 21, for travel through February 13, airlines and airport officials said. Bishop Chief Executive Officer Nino Sapone said the new Allegiant service will appeal to golfers, hikers, nature lovers and sun seekers. “Southeast Michigan and the Phoenix-Mesa area are uniquely intertwined,” Sapone said in a press release. “Hundreds of people from our region have a second home there. The new Allegiant year-round service from Flint enables them to take advantage of their ultra-low tariffs with a consistent non-stop service. It’s also great for all of our Arizona fans. ”Allegiant, which accounts for more than half of the total passenger traffic in Bishop, announced that it would fly from Flint to Phoenix in August, while also announcing that it will set up an aircraft and have a crew base in Flint. State officials announced earlier this month that the Michigan Strategic Fund will contribute $ 200,000 to support the new operating base in Bishop, a project that backers say will create 88 new high-wage jobs in Flint, the Bishop supports International Airport Authority’s facility upgrades, discounted rents and incentives for each new non-stop flight totaling $ 1.9 million in Airplane and Crew BaseAllegiant will establish Flint base for planes and crew and launch flights to Phoenix Flint Bishop Airport Advisor sees Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas as opportunities for expansion
