PHOENIX – A closure of part of Loop 101 in north Phoenix is the only planned motorway closure for Valley drivers this weekend. The eastern Loop 101 Pima Freeway will be closed to an expansion project between State Route 51 and 56th Street from 10:00 p.m. Friday through 5:00 a.m. Monday, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. The ramps of SR 51 north to Loop 101 east and the ramps of Loop 101 east on Seventh Street and Cave Creek Road will also be closed. In Phoenix, too, the SR 143 southbound ramp from University Drive eastbound and the westbound ramp to I-10 westbound on 40th Street will be closed on Sundays from 3:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. due to construction work. In Tempe, the north and south facing Loop 101 Price Freeway ramps to the east facing US 60 Superstition Freeway will be closed from Friday 9:00 p.m. to Sunday 9:00 p.m. due to road maintenance. * WEEKEND TRAVEL ADVICE * Loop 101 EB is CLOSED between SR 51 and 56th Street from 10:00 PM Friday to 5:00 AM Monday. In Maricopa, State Route 347 will be narrowed to one lane in both directions in the areas between Lakeview Drive and Edison Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday to renew the surface.
