Sebastian Chalbaud, Caco Fernandez and Abril Wednesday evening marked the 55th meeting between HPU and Elon, the Panthers leading the series 29-13-12. Since she became DI in 1999, HPU has competed against Elon 21 times. Zach Haines: We’ll take the result, we had to find a way tonight. That’s all we’ve talked about since Cornell, we need to play badly. We need to get the basics right, the things we can control on the field and put more pressure on the other team by being the aggressor. That’s what we focused on in training this week. We pushed the guys, we challenged them and tried to prepare them to bring that attitude and mentality into play and luckily they did. They earned a few moments early, forcing the red card and the penalty kick so we could shoot a man and a goal up. Of course we would have liked to have done things a little differently in the end, but tonight it’s really just about getting the win and getting back on track. I’m really happy and proud of the guys who showed a lot tonight. LIGHTS OUT, BLACK OUT, GAMEDAY! The first 100 HPU students get a blackout t-shirt! ?? @ElonMSoccer ?? 19.00 ??
