The University of Phoenix is attending the SHRM conference and sharing details on new competency-based education (CBE) programs that will enable busy professionals with relevant industry experience to complete an advanced degree faster. The new CBE programs include a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Master of Information Systems (MIS), a Master of Health Administration (MHA) and a Registered Nurse (RN) up to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) .

Each CBE program has admission requirements related to experience in the field or industry as well as the level of education required.
The program is best suited for students who want to enjoy autonomy and work at their own pace. Those with extensive work experience may get to grips with content faster than a traditional program, with graduation in around 12 months for less than $ 11,000.
The University of Phoenix now offers four competency-based degree programs:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) – This program promotes business administration skills, including management, decision-making, and use of technology.
- Master of Information Systems (MIS) – Students learn to lead IT developments, projects and initiatives and to address real business challenges.
- Master of Health Administration (MHA) – This program teaches how to analyze critical emerging health care needs and trends to demonstrate mastery of the industry-related competencies of the Health Care Accreditation Commission (ACHC).
- Registered Nurse (RN) to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Students will expand their knowledge as researchers, practitioners and leaders while focusing on evidence-based, holistic patient-centered care.
