PHOENIX–(BUSINESS WIRE) – Graduates from the College of Southern Nevada can save money when they transfer their respective credits to a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix thanks to a new agreement between the two institutions. The 3 + 1 Transfer Pathway program enables students to save the cost of their education by completing general course requirements at Community College for three years.
The new agreement includes Bachelor of Science degrees in business administration, health management, information technology and nursing.
“The College of Southern Nevada is excited to work with the University of Phoenix to give our students the opportunity to earn a degree they may never have thought possible,” said James McCoy, vice president of academic affairs for the College of Southern Nevada. “We share a commitment to providing students with a solid path through education and we continue to focus on preparing students for employment.”
Students can count up to 87 credits towards a Bachelor’s degree. With all 87 credits carried over, students only need to complete 33 credits to graduate. The University of Phoenix offers undergraduate students one course at a time in five-week increments, with new courses starting monthly.
“This new agreement with the College of Southern Nevada is very exciting because it gives students the opportunity to earn degrees in many popular industries such as nursing, IT and healthcare,” said John Woods, Provost, University of Phoenix. “Our goal is to help students focus their energies by helping them get on the right track.”
Eligible students must complete 11 courses to complete their undergraduate degree and can graduate in just 14 months when they transfer 87 credits to the University of Phoenix. In addition, the university is waiving tuition and fees for the first course and offering an Associate Degree Transfer rate for all remaining courses, saving $ 144 per course.
