Hinkley’s Lighting first turned on the lights in its legendary Uptown Phoenix store around 70 years ago. Located on Central Avenue south of Camelback Road, the popular high-end lighting business has been a fixture in the community for many decades, but the company’s roots go back even further. Now Hinkley’s announced plans to expand into an even larger, more modern, and will officially close its Phoenix location and relocate all of its operations to a warehouse and showroom in Scottsdale at 16049 N. Greenway Hayden Loop It’s been 70 years of a fantastic journey here in this Phoenix building, but it’s’ time to expand and bring it all under one roof in a larger, more sophisticated space, ”said Michael Jackson, Owner of Hinkley’s Lighting. “The past few years have been very good for us and now we’re ready to give our long-time customers and friends a really cool space and experience in our newly expanded Scottsdale location.” Photo Submitted To celebrate the move, Hinkley’s Lighting will be his Offer long-term and new customers a progressive sale, with part of the turnover going to one of their favorite purposes. Hinkley’s Lighting will donate 10 percent of all retail sales of in-stock items from the Phoenix Showroom to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Long-time owners Michael and Karen Jackson would like to give something back to the organization that helped their family in times of need. This month, customers shopping at the Phoenix location will receive a 50 percent discount on all lighting fixtures, excluding antiques and fans. That number will rise to 60 percent in August and 70 percent will be saved in September. Then Hinkley’s Lighting will be holding a Black Tag Sale Party in the last few days, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
