PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – A man and woman have died and their passenger was injured after an accident involving multiple vehicles early Sunday morning in Phoenix. Andy Williams said the crash happened around 4 a.m. near 32nd Street and Broadway Road. Investigators say a Toyota Scion was traveling south on 32nd Street when it crashed into a Kia Optima exiting I-10 eastbound. Williams said the man and woman in the Kia Optima were pronounced dead at the scene. They were later identified as 41-year-old Edward Arroyo and 36-year-old Chandra Cooper. A 4-year-old girl in the same car suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.The woman in the Toyota Scion was also non-life-threatening. They were taken to a nearby hospital with the child. Williams said the driver of the Toyota Scion may have been impaired at the time of the accident.
