Loop 101 in north Phoenix only major closure on freeways this weekend

(Flickr Photo / ADOT) PHOENIX – A closure of Loop 101 in the North Valley is the only major detour for Valley freeway drivers this weekend, the Arizona Department of Transportation said Thursday. The westbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway will be closed between Seventh Street and 27th Avenue from 10pm Friday to 5am Monday as an expansion project continues. The northbound SR 51 ramp to westbound Loop 101 and the western Loop 101 driveway on Cave Creek Road are also closed. A little further west in Glendale, the southbound Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway will be narrowed to one lane overnight – with the three left lanes blocked – between Thunderbird Road and Interstate 10 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday night to seal the cracks Part of road maintenance. In the meantime, there will be intermittent rolling closures in both directions for SRP overhead line work on Loop 202 Santan Freeway between I-10 and Kyrene Road in Chandler from Saturday 7:00 p.m. to Sunday 4:00 a.m. All I-10 ramps to loop 202 in an easterly direction are blocked during this time.
