PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – Five people were injured in a head-on collision in west Phoenix early Saturday morning. Maggie Cox says officers reacted to a two-car wreck near 67th Avenue and Thomas Road at 1:13 a.m. -on with a Chevy Impala heading south driven by a 19-year-old woman. Both drivers came to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. A 30 year old man, a 26 year old woman and a 56 year old woman are all in serious condition. According to police, the driver of the Impala showed no signs of impairment. Cox says the impairment may have been a factor in the 54-year-old driver of the Chrysler.
