Here’s a look at several lineups as well as other cultural tidbits so you can keep up with the city’s creative scene. Stray Cat Theater The Stray Cat Theater plans to present four works in the 2021/22 season, which will be performed in the Studio Theater of the Tempe Center for the Arts. The line-up includes three tracks: Bright Colors and Bold Patterns by Drew Droege, Our Dear Dead Drug Lord by Alexis Scheer, and Sheepdog by Kevin Artigue. It also includes the musical Assassins, which includes a book by John Weidman and music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. Specific dates were not announced. Sedona International Film Festival Sedona Film Festival The Sedona International Film Festival has announced the lineup for its June 12-20 event that will feature screenings and events at four venues including Harkins Theaters Sedona 6 and Sedona Performing Arts Center. The line-up includes 45 narrative feature films, 38 documentary feature films, 43 documentary short films, 46 narrative short films and six animated short films. Ticket packages start at $ 165. Single tickets are $ 15 and go on sale June 7th. Southwest Shakespeare The Southwest Shakespeare Company has announced the line-up for the 2021/22 season. The ensemble will be Legends of the Werewolf (opens October 1), From Tidworth With Love (opens November 11), Hamlet (opens November 18), Shall I Compare Thee: The Sonnets (opens April 7) and Mojada: A Medea in. perform Los Angeles (opened April 28) at Taliesin West. The season also includes The Tempest (opens February 25) and Farinelli and the King (opens March 5) at the Mesa Arts Center and Scrooge! (opens December 10th) at the Stagebrush Theater in Scottsdale. click to enlarge Cece Cole is the new curator for The Gallery at Mountain Shadows. Cece Cole New Curator Artist Cece Cole has been named the new curator of Mountain Shadows, a Scottsdale resort with an exhibition space called The Gallery that regularly features works by Arizona-based artists. The first exhibition she curates in the room is “Recent Work,” which shows works by Matt Magee. The exhibition, conceived as a celebration of the color red, opens on June 1st and runs until August 1st. Arizona Broadway Theater The Arizona Broadway Theater in Peoria has announced its 2021-22 season, which includes: Chicago (opens September 19), Elf (opens November 26), Gypsy (opens January 21), Great Balls of Fire (opens February 22nd), Flashdance (opens March 18th), Ghost The Musical (opens May 6th), The Spongebob Musical (opens June 10th), Game Show (opens August 2nd) and Happy Days A New Musical (opens August 26th). The upcoming “Things We Carry” exhibition with works by Merryn Omotayo Alaka and Sam Fresquez as well as Angela Ellsworth opens on June 5th at the Lisa Sette Gallery. The opening reception will take place on Saturday, June, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The opening times of the gallery are Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
