Serial restaurateur Sam Fox will make his long-awaited debut in the hotel world with the creation of a 141-room luxury concept in the capital of the state of Arizona. This grandiose property offers a refined hospitality experience that combines local connections with a global lens. From restaurants to luxury hotels, Sam Fox works with Brian Frakes of the Common Bond Development Group to bring his very first hotel, The Global Ambassador, to life. Frakes will support the renowned restaurateur in areas such as design, architectural supervision and financial modeling. Nelsen Partners Architects takes on the role of lead architect and the Berghoff Design Group looks after the landscape architecture. After working on most of Fox’s previous projects, Judi Testani of Testani Design Troupe will develop the interior design for the Phoenix hotel. The property is located within Red Development’s mixed-use project on the northwest corner of 44th Street and Camelback Road, where Phoenix, Scottsdale and Paradise Valley converge. For this project, Fox draws on more than 20 years of restaurant experience, which includes more than 100 restaurant openings of its own. He is an 11-time James Beard Award semi-finalist for Restaurateur of the Year and a New York Times best-selling cookbook author. In addition, he was named one of Nation’s Restaurant News’ 50 Most Influential People in the Restaurant Industry for five consecutive years. In 2019 his restaurant group Fox Restaurant Concepts was taken over by The Cheesecake Factory, but as founder he remains responsible for its operation. Fox will manage, operate and co-develop the hotel under its newly founded company Author & Edit Hospitality. Top-class gastronomy and wellness The Global Ambassador will accommodate 141 well-appointed guest rooms as well as extensive culinary and wellness experiences. In an effort to inspire travelers as a new luxury lifestyle brand, this hotel promises a vibrant energy and worldly flair that reflects the importance of this opening to Fox. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the program will host several inventive culinary concepts. Guests can expect five restaurants with cuisine with Greek, Italian and Moroccan influences, led by a huge 18,000 m² rooftop restaurant with a view of Camelback Mountain. And its wellness center will include an extensive level of fitness and an ultra-luxurious spa with treatments that bring body and mind into harmony. In addition to the exceptional culinary and wellness offers of the hotel, there is a member club with restricted access. Currently in the planning phase, The Global Ambassador should be completed by the end of 2023.
