Here Are All the Phoenix Restaurants That Opened and Closed in November

The Valley restaurant scene saw several new openings this month. We welcomed three coffee places, Black Rock Coffee, Dapper & Stout and Ziggi’s from Colorado. Chompie’s, a local staple, opened its largest location in Phoenix, and several ethnic restaurants welcomed guests in November. Unfortunately, we said goodbye to a few Phoenix classics: 24 Carrots Natural Cafe & Urban Juicery and Ah-So Teppanyaki & Sushi House of Japan. Below is the full list of openings and closings on the Phoenix dining scene as of November 2021. OPENINGCHompie’s3212 East Cactus RoadThe biggest place Chompies have welcomed diners in Phoenix this month. The fifth location presents its fast-casual concept with delicatessen meals and Jewish specialties. Black Rock Coffee303 South Arizona Avenue, ChandlerAll coffee favorites, from latte to mocha, can be found at Black Rock Coffee. The newest location is now open in Chandler. K-38 Beach Mex Cantina155 West Ocotillo Road, # 1, Chandler The K-38 Beach Mex Cantina was inspired by Baja food stalls in California. The restaurant offers margaritas and more on Mondays, children eat free on Wednesdays and lunch specials. The atmosphere is casual and chilled. Dapper & Stout100 East Camelback Road, No. 150Dapper & Stout is aimed at coffee and cocktail drinkers. A third location has been opened on Camelback. Guests can choose from a variety of teas, frappes, mochas, as well as beers and cocktails. Dapper & Stout El Fogón Taqueria 3111 West Chandler Boulevard, # 216 ChandlerEl Fogón Taqueria opened its doors in the food court in the Chandler Fashion Center Mall. Regular favorites like tacos, burritos, and quesadillas are on the menu. Bap and Chicken960 North 54th Street, Chandler The first Bap and Chicken opened in Chandler. The place offers Korean fried chicken as well as bibimbap, a mixture of different ingredients and rice. Tap Dragon Craft Beer & Wine 835 South Gilbert Road, # 101, Gilbert At the newest bar in Gilbert, Tap Dragon Craft Beer & Wine, cider, mead, wines and of course craft beers are on the menu. It is the first official taproom in Gilbert. Babbo Italian Eatery 15705 West McDowell Road, Goodyear The eighth location of the family-run Babbo Italian Eatery has opened in Goodyear. Customers can choose from classic Italian favorites like pizza, pasta and calzones. Ono Hawaiian BBQ9954 South Rural Road, Tempe The 10th Ono Hawaiian BBQ location opened in Tempe this month. Lunch dishes, aloha plates, and small meals are served at this California restaurant. Salt Tacos y Tequila2206 East Williams Field Road, # 101, GilbertThe second Salt Tacos y Tequila has opened in Gilbert. The restaurant offers Mexican favorites like burrito and enchiladas, as well as rice and queso. Pedal House Brewery214 East Roosevelt Street Pedal House Brewery has opened its downtown Phoenix location. Enjoy locally brewed beer and small bites at all locations. Cha Da Thai2765 North Scottsdale Road, # 107, ScottsdaleBussara “Nina” Irwin opened Cha Da Thai in Scottsdale this month. Bento boxes as well as traditional Thai dishes are served in the restaurant. Far Away Wine & Provisions 3031 East Indian School Road, # 10 The 30-seat Far Away Wine & Provisions wine bar offers wines, beers and other small bites. Artisanal cheeses and meats are also on the menu. REMARKABLE CONCLUSIONS 24 Carrots Natural Cafe & Urban Juicery The landlord is not extending the lease at 24 Carrots Natural Cafe & Urban Juicery. Sadhana “Sasha” Raj’s vegetarian / vegan restaurant is closed this month. It opened in 2013. Casanova Bros. Pizza & Pasta After 14 years, Casanova Bros. Pizza & Pasta on the northeast corner of Val Vista and Guadalupe has closed for good. The shutdown was a consequence of co-owner Mike Casanova’s death of COVID-19 in August. Ah-So Teppanyaki & Sushi House of Japan Ah-Ah-So Teppanyaki & Sushi House of Japan in Mesa has closed after 14 years of business. Mai Mochi DonutsAfter a year in business, Mai Mochi Donuts has closed its doors with Japanese-style sweet treats.
